CONfERENCE

ABOUT THIS YEAR'S

We’re excited to welcome you to MUNAP XXI, the 21st annual Model United Nations Conference at Walter Payton College Prep! As we enter the third decade of our conference, we’re proud to present a refined and reimagined MUNAP.

This year, we’ve enhanced every aspect of the delegate experience to make MUNAP more dynamic, engaging, and forward-thinking than ever before. MUNAP XXI will be held at Walter Payton College Prep, in Chicago's historic Old Town neighborhood.

We’re also thrilled to announce that MUNAP will be a tech-enabled conference, which is designed to foster collaboration, creativity, and real-time problem-solving in a modern format.

Explore our new committees, connect with delegates from across the region, and join the next generation of global leaders.

We can’t wait to see you at MUNAP XXI!

KEY cHANGES

Tech

Changing from no-tech to a tech-enabled conference

We decided to switch from a no-tech to a tech conference to take a more modern approach to Model UN. This change makes it easier for delegates to send crisis notes, collaborate on resolutions, and draft directives efficiently.

AWARDS

Shifting from books to gavels for best delegate

Based on last year’s feedback, we’re switching from books to gavels to make awards more exciting and professional. The gavel better represents leadership, diplomacy, and the spirit of Model UN.

MiDDLE SCHOOL

Seperating our middle school and high school conference

We’re separating our middle school and high school conferences to better accommodate our growing number of delegates. This change allows each event to run more smoothly and be tailored to its participants’ experience levels. The middle school conference took place on December 6th and hosted around 100 delegates.

TECH POLICY

Delegates may use technology only during unmoderated caucuses, for submitting crisis notes in crisis committees, or when the chair explicitly allows it. Technology cannot be used during speeches or formal debate.

Delegates submitting crisis notes must use their email account. Delegates submitting notes must make it one consecutive email chain and have the subject of the email be their position. This helps keep track of submissions and makes sure everything is organized.

Use of AI tools is not allowed in any part of MUNAP XXI. If a delegate uses AI for research, writing, or any documents (including their position paper), they will be removed from awards consideration, and their sponsor will be notified. Chairs need to be shared on all working papers and draft resolutions, so version histories can be checked.
